In the Dojang.com (ITDC) was created to be the #1 online destination for TKD. ITDC is a social network where practitioners can share pictures, videos, and thoughts. You will read here what makes this tool different from anything else you have seen. In short, this was designed to make school owners more money by addressing three key areas: Awareness, Enrollment, and Engagement.
Awareness: A website is like an online brochure. Think of ITDC as a tool for guiding prospective students to read, see, and hear your message either on your website or on your very own ITDC Group Page. Schools will be given a free listing that will include name, address, phone number and email address. What you do beyond a basic listing to differentiate your school from others is where the benefits begin. ITDC Affiliates can display their school logo and provide a brief description of unique elements of their school (e.g. Winner of XX medals at 2011 Jr. Olympics). ITDC provide Associates with a link to their school's website. If you don't have a website (or are not happy with what you have) you can even use ITDC as your website using our template.
Enrollment: We all know that if we can get prospects to take three trial classes, the odds are at least 50% that they will sign on as students. ITDC can provide a little incentive in the form of an online coupon that the prospect can click through or print out and bring to you directly. The details of the offer are up to you of course. ITDC provides this service to its Affiliates in a way that it is easy to track. Imagine if ITDC helped you to enroll five new students. What would that be worth over the course of a year?
Engagement: This is what makes ITDC different than anything else you have seen. Your students are your best salespeople. Always have been. ITDC enables you to provide a forum for your students to be talking about and thinking about TKD when they are not in your school. You can communicate with them as a group or individually to follow up on a class or to inform them of an upcoming event. In addition, the students are also talking to one another, sharing pictures and stories. In the process, they connect with their non-TKD friends on Facebook, and invite all of those friends back to ITDC. Once there, they see how much fun your students are having. They read your messages. See how this works? We are not just "talking amongst ourselves." We are tapping into our students' already existing social networks.
There are many ways that ITDC keeps students coming back week in and week out.
- Participate in forums for discussions regarding all things TKD such as poomse and sparring.
- Our news aggregator combs the web to bring all the latest TKD news from around the world right to you.
- Constant flow of informative and interesting articles from the leading voices in TKD. In fact, the articles that you and your students submit on your Group Page can be "promoted" to the front page.
- Have you searched YouTube for TKD-related videos? Imagine if the best where posted all in one place where you and your students could view them. There will be a library that aggregates the best of YouTube TKD videos.
- ITDC has a tournament calendar. Associates from around the country will post their tournaments so that we will all know what tournaments are within a day's drive at any time. What if ITDC attracted just 5 students to your next tournament? What would that be worth?
- ITD Live allows you to broadcast your dojang events in real time. If a student's family member is ill and can't come to a test, all you need is a Smart Phone. The event is broadcast in real time and can be archived on your group site. Imagine if you used ITD Live to record a self-defense clinic. You give the first few minutes away as a preview. Even if you don't charge for the program, the video is now archived for you to promote you and your school as a resource for self-defense training.
- As an Affiliate, your school will have a Group Page which allows you and your students to access to all of the things we described. This is your real estate. Sell banner ads, post coupons for local businesses. You do the deal. You keep the money. ITDC simply approves the advertiser to ensure that it is appropriate content. Imagine if you earned an extra $400 this year. Not much, but there is no maximum and we take no cut.
The key to success is to set up your Group Page first and then simply invite your students to register AND to join your school's Group Page. Then, as an Affiliate, ITDC becomes your #1 source of communicating with your students and the community. Encourage your students to use the site as they would their favorite social networking site, as long as it is TKD-related. Then, sit back and watch. You may learn something about your students or your school that will help you to improve and grow. (Suggestion: Think very carefully about "friending" students on places like Facebook where you may learn more about them, or reveal more about the non-TKD aspects of your life than you would prefer).
So what's the catch? There isn't one. The service is always free to individual users. The cost for a school owner to become an Affiliate is $12 for a full year. We made the cost low because school owners are looking for ways to increase awareness, enrollment, and engagement. We built it and we want to make it easy for any school owner to come on board and start using it with their students.
There are services that invite martial arts schools to have a listing on a directory. That's good. We wanted to do more, by adding valuable content that you and your students can use two, three, four times a week. That kind of engagement is a win-win for you and your students.
You've dedicated your life to helping students to reach their personal best through TKD. Lupo TKD is dedicated to finding ways to help school owners to make a good living doing what they love. ITDC will be our venue for bringing those tools to you. For more information, contact me at
